Our client asked for our support with a complex superyacht project which involved replacing the stabilisers, installing a new indoor lift and constructing a new custom external swimming pool.
Regarding the first request, instead of simply replacing the fins, a solution was chosen which involved building a whole new block from scratch to include the plank and an enslaved hydraulic system. The choice stemmed from the objective of achieving higher efficiency in the process, which would have not been possible with a simple replacement – the alternative would have largely extended the overall work completion time, owing to necessary and continuous movement of parts from the vessel to the ground and vice versa.
This process required preventive removal, transportation and demolition of the old block, weighing 20 tons.
For the new lift installation, we executed aligned openings across all the decks, performing elaborate cutting and demolition operations. Once the first phase was finished, we successfully placed the lift on site and welded it to the new structure.
Finally, for the swimming pool, again the works did not include its mere replacement – on the contrary, it was a whole process, inclusive of planning, designing, building and placing the new, larger pool on site, together with all of its accessories and systems.
